Life Changing Chocolate Chip Cookies

Compliments of the Kale Junkie

Story

By Emma Atchison

The recipe is one that I learned about through a college friend and brought home to my sister because the recipe was so simple and yummy. I knew my sister would love it because the ingredients were very wholesome and healthier. We often make the recipe when I’m home from college and it’s definitely connected us to each other because I am gone most of the time, so when I do come home we intentionally bake this recipe together. We really enjoy making the cookies extra big (just for fun 😄) to try to replicate the giant Mary’s Mountain cookies!! We love them and hope you love them too.

NOTES:

  • These cookies are truly “Life Changing”.
  • We made these cookies and decided to take some to Macie’s friend Miera who is limited on certain ingredients she can have.  She loved them!
  • Tahini can be found at speciality grocery stores.
Questions for the Table
Sunday dinner should be a time for you and your family to enjoy each other’s company without distractions. We know how hard that is, which is why we introduced three questions at dinner to engage the whole family. This exercise will reveal stories and details about your loved ones that you never knew – stories you will cherish.
Try it yourself! Use the questions below at your next Sunday Supper!
  1. What was your first word as a baby?
  2. Where were you born, what hospital?
  3. What was your birth story? Your childrens birth story?

Life Changing Chocolate Chip Cookies

Recipe from The Kale Junkie

First and foremost we want to thank Kale Junkie for allowing us to highlight her “Life Changing Chocolate Chip Cookie” recipe. These are seriously delicious- and trust me, we are a household that LOVES our traditional chocolate chip cookie.

Our daughter Macie had a celebration at school the other day and we needed to bring in treats. We knew that Macie’s best friend Miera was unable to have sugar (maple syrup is ok) and we wanted her to feel included in the celebration! So we made a bag of these especially for her and gave them to her to enjoy for the celebration and at home.

Here are her words sent to me from her sweet mom: “I feel so special I got something no one else did today because I never get treats.”

These are a special addition for anyone with dietary restrictions and to not feel like they are missing out!
